Childhood cancer is relatively rare, but that's no consolation to families who face it.  

It's hard for everyone involved.  The patients whose young active lives are hampered or cut short, the parents who must watch with anguish and constant worry as their children suffer, siblings who often must become prematurely independent at very young ages.  

This video, CHILDHOOD CANCER EXPLAINED, provides a great way to help children understand the disease.   

We've been there--at least on the periphery.  I have a niece who was diagnosed with a rare tumor on her spine.  She lives next door to me, the most adorable 4-year-old you've ever seen!  She's healthy now, cancer free thanks to a dedicated team of healthcare workers and lots of prayers in her behalf.  She's a genuine miracle!

We'd love to see every child battling cancer see those same kinds of miracles, so during the month of September, we're donating (Keep reading for details!) a portion of our sales to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation--a charity organization started by a young cancer patient named Alex, who wanted to help other kids like her.   

Sadly, Alex succumbed to her cancer at the ripe old age of 8.

1. Create a Million Mile team!  Alex's Lemonade Stand hosts an annual fundraiser each September called The Million Mile.  It's a walk-a-thon to raise funds for the foundation.  Register your team HERE!

5.
