You know what they say.  April showers bring May flowers.  And what do May flowers bring?  The perfect gift for Mom!!

Mother's Day is one of the most universally celebrated holidays in the world, with over 4 billion people celebrating it on official holidays in nearly every country. 

Most even celebrate it in May.  

Its only competitors for more-celebrated holidays are New Year's Day and Father's Day.

Nope.  Not Christmas.  With only 2.6 billion Christians in the world, Christmas ranks well behind.

That's a lot of moms, and a lot of husbands and kiddos giving flowers.

Live flowers, cut flowers, silk flowers, candy flowers, cake flowers, wood flowers, paper flowers.

Personally, I love flowers.  Real ones especially.  

But cut flowers die.  And, in truth, so do live flowers too often.  I mean, do I really want one more thing to take care of for Mother's Day?  A plant that I have to water or dig a hole for in the garden and cross my fingers that it'll survive?  Kind of like raising kids, eh?  

Haha.  I jest, of course.  

And what about those adorable candy or cake flowers?  A lot of moms are watching their waistlines.  We REALLY don't need the extra calories.  

Wood or silk flowers are often beautiful, but in the end they're one more thing I have to dust around here.
