SAVE THE TATAS! Breast Cancer Awareness and a NEW POSTER!
This is my mother-in-law:

She was a breast cancer survivor, not once but twice.
It was a scary time for her and for all of us. So terrified we were going to lose her--a loving and beloved mom and grandma and aunt and dear friend--far too soon.
But she was tough. She wasn't going to let breast cancer beat her.
We rallied around her and did what we could to take care of her. But it always felt like she was doing more to take care of us.
It was our first experience having someone close to us struggle with something like this. But we tried hard to have fun with it.
So much fun.
One of the greatest things we did was to run the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 5K, organized by the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

My youngest was 9 or 10 the first time we ran it. What a great event! Running a charity race with THOUSANDS of other runners, everyone in pink, men wearing tutus and padded lacy bras, t-shirts that put smiles on our faces. We ran along immersed in images of bras and boobs and blue-footed boobies.
Shirts like these:
Cancer Messed With the Wrong Pair
We learned a whole lot of new ways to describe those fleshy lumps under our shirts. Tatas, Knockers, Bumps, Melons, Coconuts, Jugs, Maracas, Boulders, Rack, The Girls, Liberty Bells, Thelma and Louise, Twin Peaks... Loads of pictures of cows and bras and Blue-footed Boobies, because...why not? The list of names for breasts goes on and on, and the more lists you look for the more names for boobs you'll find.
Other foundations funding research on breast cancer include:
The National Breast Cancer Foundation
The Breast Cancer Research Foundation
All three organizations offer opportunities to donate, be involved in events, and provide support to women struggling with breast cancer.
If you're facing breast cancer, reach out to one or all of them. Get the help you and your Tatas deserve.
To recognize those women who have fought the good fight, and to help celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October), we've designed a brand new poster. A beach full of blue-footed boobies for you and your favorite breast cancer warrior to color together.
